Thorntonloch House B&B Dunbar

Set among beautiful and tranquil landscape, Thorntonloch House makes for the perfect 'Get Away'

Thorntonloch House Dunbar, a 4 star B&B

The House lies to the east of the old fishing town of Dunbar, East Lothian, birthplace of the famous conservationist and author, John Muir (1838 – 1914).

We are easily accessed from the A1 and are only 4 miles from Dunbar and the main east coast railway. From our elevated position over Thorntonloch Bay, the house affords superb panoramic views across the North Sea toward St Abbs marine conservation site.

It is the ideal tranquil and secluded location, without being too remote, for those relaxing "get away from it all" short breaks allowing you to unwind, or even perhaps for a more extended holiday.

The Dunbar to Dunglass section of the John Muir Walkway passes within 300 metres, while the Southern Upland Way finishes within approximately 3 kms of the house. If golf is your 'bag', the testing 18 hole Dunbar Golf Club is only 4 kms further down the road.

We are situated 2 miles from Dunglass estate for wedding accomodation

The house is both comfortable and spacious throughout and with its sea views, is the perfect place to relax with a coffee and book.

We offer traditional and continental breakfast options (all grilled in the Aga).

Walkers, Golfers, Cyclists, Motorcyclists, small groups always welcome.
